The support team also offers limited help with benefit and housing advice and other related issues that may affect service users. Support staff routinely work in close partnership with other agencies so that support can be offered that is tailored to individuals’ needs.

Garden Pathways ProjectSupport team staff will spend time with service users to resolve individual problems relating to family, personal health and will offer help to manage their mental ill health as the need arises. Staff will liaise closely with family and carers to ensure that service users keep appointments for routine health checks.

Support staff facilitate the User Group to enable users to become more self-organised. The User Group meets monthly with self-elected officers and organises a variety of leisure, sporting and social events.

Support with personal health and well-being can also be found through the Garden Pathways project and provides an opportunity for service users to participate in a range of activities designed to improve their health and well-being. New developments will include a ‘Green Gym’ involving walking groups and outdoor exercises plus taster sessions and cookery demonstrations aimed at improving physical health and fitness.
